Production Supervisor – CNC Machine Shop / Contract Manufacturer

Location: Quakertown, Pa

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead our CNC machine shop operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC machining and a proven track record in implementing lean manufacturing principles to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership:

• Oversee daily operations of the CNC machine shop, ensuring timely, high-quality, and cost-effective production.
• Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demands and optimize workflow.

Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement:

• Champion lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve productivity.
• Utilize methodologies such as ^S and Kaizen to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Team Management:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of skilled machinists and support staff, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs.

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure all products meet stringent quality standards and customer specifications.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to implement and maintain robust quality assurance processes.

Safety & Compliance:

• Uphold all health and safety regulations, creating a safe and positive work environment for all staff.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Resource Management:

• Manage resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel, to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Oversee maintenance schedules for machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related technical field; relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a managerial role within a CNC machine shop or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience implementing lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Proficiency in production planning software and familiarity with MRP/ERP systems – JobBOSS.
• Solid understanding of health and safety regulations within a machining environment.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with plant maintenance and TPM for critical machines
• Must be a US citizen for ITAR purposes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications in lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
• Experience with CNC programming and machining techniques.
• Familiarity with ISO quality management systems.
