Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Audiovisual Manager to oversee the comprehensive technical execution of live event production for a series of professional conferences. With 18+ events annually, spanning destinations such as Florida, Hawaii, Charleston, SC, Nashville, and New Orleans, this role combines travel with the opportunity to work on cutting-edge AV technology in dynamic and exciting environments.
In this leadership role, you will manage the full audiovisual lifecycle of each event—from pre-event planning to onsite execution and post-event wrap-up. While you will serve as the primary audiovisual technician onsite, you will be supported by event staff for physical setup and teardown as needed.You will work closely with the company president, keynote speakers, and subject matter experts, ensuring their presentations are supported with professional-grade audio, video, and streaming. Between events, this role will involve tasks such as basic video editing and supporting IT or AV-related projects.
Candidates with an IT background and familiarity with major AV brands and equipment will have a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities- End-to-End Event Production:
- Oversee all aspects of audiovisual production, including planning, setup, execution, and teardown, for live events.
- Ensure seamless live streaming, recording, and high-quality AV support for all sessions.
- Coordinate closely with the company president and other team members to ensure each event’s success.
- Technical Expertise:
- Operate and manage advanced AV systems, including audio mixing, video switching, and live streaming.
- Utilize VMix software for professional-grade streaming and video production.
- Work with AV equipment from leading brands, including Shure, Allen & Heath, QSC, AJA, Blackmagic Design, and more.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues onsite in high-pressure, live environments.
- Professional Interaction:
- Collaborate directly with the company president to align technical delivery with strategic goals.
- Provide technical support and guidance to keynote speakers and subject matter experts, ensuring their presentations run smoothly.
- Maintain a professional demeanor while working with high-profile individuals.
- Video Editing and IT Support:
- Perform basic video editing tasks for recorded content and marketing materials between events.
- Assist with IT-related projects, including network management and AV equipment updates.
- Travel & Logistics Coordination:
- Travel extensively to event locations nationwide, averaging 18 weeks annually.
- Manage AV logistics, including pre-event testing, shipping, and setup of equipment at each venue.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in live event production.
- Proven ability to work independently in managing all aspects of audiovisual production.
- Technical Skills:
- Expertise in live streaming, recording, and professional-grade AV production.
- Proficiency with VMix, audio mixing consoles, video switchers, and other AV systems.
- Familiarity with major AV brands such as Shure, Allen & Heath, QSC, AJA, Blackmagic Design, and similar.
- Strong understanding of IT and networked AV systems.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Any relevant AV certifications (e.g., AVIXA CTS, Dante Certification) are a plus.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining networked AV systems.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Professional demeanor and ability to collaborate effectively with high-profile speakers, leadership, and event staff.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
- Additional Skills:
- Basic video editing experience using software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or similar.
- IT background or experience with networking and system troubleshooting is highly desirable.
