JOB SUMMARY:

The VP of Manufacturing & Supply Chain will be a key contributor to implement corporate strategies supporting robust growth objectives over the next several years. This role will hold responsibility for leading all operational aspects of the organization, focused on Manufacturing (Co-Manufacturing, Packaging, Commercialization, Capex) and Supply (Procurement, Forecasting/MRP, Master Scheduling, Customer Service, Demand Planning, S&OP, Freight and 3PL).

The VP of Manufacturing & Supply Chain will lead by engaging, coaching, and developing a team; ensuring all programs and priorities are aligned to drive capacity expansion, improved capabilities, end-to-end supply harmonization, competitive customer service deliverables, and industry best practices.

This leader guides their team towards continued functional excellence while collaborating exceptionally well in a small, dedicated, hands-on, cross-functional leadership team focused on results, accountability, and team-development. They will nurture and cultivate a mindset focused on rapid growth and establish a culture of high performance.

The ideal candidate must have experience in a dairy/refrigerated short shelf-life product environment. They should possess customer-facing experience to ensure that customer service/sales, supply, and manufacturing teams operate at a best-in-class level.
The VP of Supply Chain will serve as an inspirational and influential leader, infusing the organization with new thinking, adaptability, and improved ways of operating, while ensuring a sustainable and competitive advantage for the organization, particularly in the realm of supply chain management.

This role will report to the CFO / COO.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Drive operating efficiencies and excellence in Good Culture’s overall supply chain.
  • Responsible for achieving needed co manufacturing (Co Man) capacity while maintaining the highest standards in service level, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Optimize Co Man network to maximize capacity, reduce costs, improve quality, and improve service levels for today and future growth.
  • Establish critical performance metrics (e.g., fulfillment rates, services levels, KPIs on short-coded products, etc.) in the supply chain and manufacturing organizations, proactively resolves problems, introduce best practices, and foster positive change as required.
  • Ensure a robust, stable, and scalable supply chain (primarily Co Man) to deliver at competitive costs today as well as set up to deliver long term volume requirements. Continually reassess the commitments to best serve the business.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive step change improvements in areas of opportunity within the company’s inventory portfolio, and in meeting/exceeding customers’ needs for improved communication, quick turns, and on-time delivery related to promotional products, year-round products, new product launches, and seasonal demands.
  • Lead all company supply chain processes (Demand Planning, S&OP, Commercialization, Distribution) and ensure that all cross functional partners are aligned as to decision and execution.
  • Lead the company’s distribution and logistics practices in overseeing our 3PL network, providing recommendations for continued performance, cost optimization, and strategic positioning.
  • Assess the company’s current supply chain model and design and implement Good Culture’s “supply chain of the future,” given our products and brand’s rapid growth and need for efficiency.
  • Implement capacity expansion projects on a thorough and timely basis (In full, at cost, and on time)
  • Lead contract negotiations with co-mans, ensuring all business terms are addressed properly for the organization.
  • Establish and implement short and long-term objectives, initiatives, procedures and policies in collaboration with the company objectives.
  • Represent the organization in key customer meetings providing insight into the overall supply and technical capabilities as it relates to innovation, delivering finished products, and identifying new ways to better serve customers.
  • Demonstrate excellent motivational leadership skills and fosters a collaborative team environment.
  • Contribute to positive organizational change by actively participating and guiding team members through a consistent change process.
  • Manage and address real-time challenges and opportunities.
  • Serve as a key leader in implementing our overall company mission, ensuring our supply chain is achieving our B-Corp certification requirements and longer-term objectives to continue to have a positive impact on our environmental and social responsibilities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • BS degree in Dairy Science/Food Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of manufacturing experience, a dairy/refrigerated short shelf-life product environment is a requirement
  • Minimum 10 years of experience leading a food company's entire supply chain; candidates with robust procurement experience may also be considered
  • Supply chain leadership experience in a startup food company a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging and fast paced entrepreneurial environment and develop it into a more sophisticated and scalable platform.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, ability to make decisions, solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Proven track record of initiative, follow-through, and results.
  • Data driven approach to delivering innovative continuous improvement (CI) solutions to improve product quality, reduce manufacturing costs, produce product more efficiently, and improve relationships with our Co-Mans. A continuous improvement (CI) and/or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) background is preferred
  • Intermediate level in Excel and data analysis (higher level preferred) to improve costs, analyze capacity, optimize logistics, Improve quality and/or drive CI initiatives.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with co-man leadership teams and internal leadership teams with an eagerness to be hands-on, accountable, and heavily results-focused.
  • Strong communication skills to be able to present the company and functional strategy in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic, new, and growing leadership team.
  • Ability to demonstrate followership, trust, and respect quickly within a driven and capable team.
