Assistant Production Supervisor, 2nd Shift

Due to a recent promotion, we are looking for a new Assistant Production Supervisor for 2nd Shift. You will get to make a difference by promoting and upholding a culture of safety and quality, coordinating daily production schedules, training operators in the use of our ERP system, and coordinating training.You will also work closely with the Production Supervisor to effectively manage employees and step in as the Supervisor when needed.
2nd Shift: Monday - FridayHours: 2:45 PM - 11:00 PM
Assistant Production Supervisor Salary Range: $51,000 - $62,000, depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
- Prioritize Safety: Uphold a strong commitment to personal safety and the safety of your team. Take proactive measures to address and stop work in the event of unsafe conditions.
- Leadership: Assist in the management and supervision of daily work performance for employees, providing leadership, direction, and training as needed.
- Employee Development: Address and coach employees through disciplinary issues and participate in their professional development.
- Scheduling: Create production schedules and collaborate with Human Resources to meet hiring needs. Manage employee hours using our timekeeping system.
- Shift Operations: Assist in shift changeovers and participate in daily Operations meetings.
- Quality Control: Conduct regular product inspections and audit daily activities against standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Safety Compliance: Ensure overall safety compliance, and verify that employees adhere to proper safety procedures, particularly when operating powered industrial equipment.
- Training: Supervise and train new employees in department operations, ensuring they complete job training and receive ongoing support.
- Equipment Maintenance: Inspect, troubleshoot, and oversee the repair of mechanical issues with equipment.
What you'll bring to the table:
- High School diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a Team Lead or Assistant Supervisor role
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience using Microsoft Office suite; ERP experience preferred
- Experience participating in Continuous Improvement initiatives (6S, Visual Management, Gemba walks, Standard Work, etc.) preferred
