Benefits Coordinator - Tampa

Company Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources under a Shared Services Model, the Benefits Coordinator administers the Company benefits programs (including insurance and retirement plans), collaborates with legislation compliance, generates and analyze reporting, metrics & analytics, support shared services operations, serves as a back-up to HR Operations; collaborates with internal and external audits.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions
  • Collaborate with annual design of the benefits plans, in collaboration with the Director of HR, CFO and insurance broker and participate in annual benefit renewal processes evaluating and analyzing the renewal as presented by the vendors and benefits broker.
  • Manage the full cycle of coordination, planning, execution and communication of annual benefits open enrollment, coordinates employee meetings, communications and ensures all plan summaries, benefits booklets and enrollments are up to date before insurance renewal effective date. Coordinates post- open enrollment operations to onboard vendors, connect carriers to employee enrollment platforms and payroll system.
  • Conducts dependents audits for proper insurance utilization.
  • Oversee the day-to-day administration of group benefit programs (medical, dental, vision, life, short-term and long-term disability, flexible spending plan, etc.) and provide overview of benefits to potential hires and new hires.
  • Manage relationships with key vendors and third parties, including benefits brokers ensuring that they are a value add to the organization and to resolve benefit-related issues.
  • Audit and reconcile benefit plans and benefit-related invoices, and process discrepancy reports and ensures payments are up to date.
  • Work closely with brokers and outside counsel to ensure plans remain in compliance, including annual 5500 filings, audits, communications, amendments, and plan documents.
  • Address employee benefits questions and provide follow up until completion.
  • Manage reports and analytics proper of the function, including but not limited to OSHA Logs, ACA reporting, etc.
  • Implement and manage wellness initiatives to ensure best utilization of medical plans.
  • Manage all aspects of 401k retirement plan, participate in fiduciary committee, provide reporting, participate in audits and review 5500.
  • Participate in Fiduciary Committee meetings.
  • Administer leave of absence (ADA, FMLA, Workers’ Comp, bereavement, sick leave, PTO) and reports absences to payroll and insurance (STD/LTD), for proper payment. Run end of year disability earnings to report as income in payroll.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state statutes, including (but not limited to) ERISA, GINA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA.
  • Serves as a backup for HR Operations.

Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree Human Resources or similarly related field Required
Work Experience
  • 4-6 years Experience in human resources, specifically supporting employee benefits design and administration Required
  • 1-3 years Previous experience and knowledge of ADP HRIS Preferred
  • 1-3 years Demonstrated experience working with confidential and sensitive employee data Required
Skills Required
  • Proficient with regulatory and legislative imperatives and impacts related to Total Rewards programs (FLSA, Sec 125, ERISA, 409A, HIPAA, etc.). High
  • High level of customer service, communications, and follow up High
  • The use of reporting tools is a plus. Medium
  • Analytically driven with strong execution skills to drive solutions to completion excellent attention to detail. High
  • Ability to coordinate projects across teams and departments. High

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated above. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
