Medication Technician

In this role, you will help ensure the safety and well-being of our residents by administering medications with precision and care, all under the supervision of our licensed nursing staff.
Position Summary: As a Medication Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and administering medications to residents while maintaining a warm and supportive environment. Your attention to detail and compassionate communication will play a crucial role in our residents' health and happiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications safely and accurately, following all established policies and state regulations.
- Complete documentation for each medication administration promptly, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
- Communicate effectively with team members during shift changes, sharing important information about resident care and any concerns.
- Maintain the security of medication storage and perform regular checks on narcotics.
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ conditions to the Wellness Director.
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, mobility, and social engagement.
- Follow safety protocols and respond promptly to all requests for assistance.
What You Bring:
- A positive and empathetic approach to resident care.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain a supportive atmosphere.
- Successful completion of a state-approved medication administration course.
- Previous experience as a Medication Technician or working with older adults is preferred.
Education & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, TB test, and physical.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable interacting with residents, staff, and family members.
