Logistics Coordinator - Air Import
Ensure the proper and timely movement of freight and information, while providing exceptional customer service within the Air Import department. This position is an onsite position at our Uniondale Location
Responsibilities:
- Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow
- Input accurate and timely data into operating system
- Track and trace Air Import shipments
- Manage department’s shipment exceptions, including shortages/overages/damages
- Work directly with warehouse employees to ensure certain shipments are prioritized, based on department and customer needs
- Ensure timely dispatching of cargo, to meet customer’s delivery requirements
- Provide transportation and commercial documents to importer’s customs broker
- Bill clients and vendors in an accurate and timely manner
- Interact with customers with exceptional customer service
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors (airlines, trucking, terminals, and others)
- Respond timely to E-mail requests and phone calls
- Understand department process flow, while constantly looking for areas of improved efficiency
- Ensure customer’s standard operating procedures are being followed and updated in the DLSOP
- Understand and meet KPI standard, as per the company’s procedures
- Meet company standard of 52 hours training per year
- Promote compliance by diligently following all company policies and regulations while performing the tasks at hand, with outstanding integrity and pride
