Physical Therapist (PT)
Community Therapy Services, a division of The Stepping Stones Group,
is hiring immediately for Early Intervention Physical Therapists in Palmdale, CA and the surrounding areas! Under the general supervision of the Regional Clinical Manager/Directors (RCM/Ds), the full-time Physical Therapist will provide PT services to clients/consumers in a home or community setting, conduct developmental evaluations, provide interventions in the form of therapy and counseling and training to client's caregiver(s).
Pay: $48.00 - $65.00 per hour
REQUIREMENTS
Doctorate in Physical Therapy
Current and unrestricted Physical Therapist license in California
Five or more years' experience in the field of Physical Therapy
Two or more years' experience working with children (ages 0-7)
Excellent written and verbal communication
A high level of professionalism and organizational skills
Experience writing session notes, progress reports, and assessment reports
Present a professional demeanor (i.e., appropriate clothing, hygiene)
Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills, can multi-task and prioritize demands.
Serve culturally and linguistically diverse families in low and high SES areas
Comfortable working in homes (studio apt., housing projects, etc.) of families with limited resources.
Use professional language (avoid slang) when conversing in a work-related conversation Reliable transportation and current vehicle liability insurance
Ability to travel to BLC's regional centers, client homes, and schools in the Santa Clarita Valley, San Fernando Valley, and/or Antelope Valley
Demonstrate good affect and outgoing personality
Enjoy working with individuals of all ages, races, religious backgrounds, and personalities
Proficient in using Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
CLINICAL DUTIES
THERAPY AND CONSULTATION
Provide services in a home/community/teletherapy/clinic setting
Conduct formal and informal Developmental Evaluations
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including Speech-Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Child Developmental Specialists, and Behavior Analysts
Apply interventions to maximize children's safety and performance in daily life
Assess clients using a variety of tools, assess client's home and other environments and advise on alterations consistent with their needs and capabilities
Recommend adaptive equipment and train in its use
Conduct standardized assessments using age-appropriate diagnostic tests
Provide intervention in the form of direct therapy (group or individual), consultation, monitoring, and/or written programs
Provide both direct therapy and consultation services, while effectively communicating learners progress and needs with guardians and team members
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with organizational policies and procedures related to privacy
Follow standards of practice for the profession regarding the safe application of assessment protocols, therapeutic techniques, and techniques for direct handling of clients
Provide education and training on an on-going basis (monthly and as needed) to caregivers
Complete professional documentation according to BLC procedures
Coordinate with on-line data collection program to ensure assessment and report templates are uploaded into the system
Collect data and document progress
Attend annual conferences to expand skills and knowledge in the field of Physical Therapy with emphasis on Early Intervention
Attend IFSP meetings with the funding source and family members as needed
Supervise PTAs, as needed, through observation, co-treatments, modeling, discussions, teaching, and direct instruction
Ensure the safe and effective delivery of physical therapy services and professional competence of PTAs
ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES
Submit revised assessment, progress and addendum reports in a timely manner to office/insurance administrator
Ensure the training and mentoring of PTAs
Write weekly, monthly, and quarterly assessment, progress, and addendum reports as required by the clinical teams or as needed by the funding source, and at times, caregivers
Write assessment and progress and addendum reports within a proper timeline as mandated by the funding source.
Coordinate submission of the assessment and progress reports with the regional office administrator
Coordinate PTA schedules and client schedules with a regional staffing manager
QUALITY CONTROL
Review and revise reports and assessments as needed
Audit source documentation and ensure all appointments have supporting documentation
Sign all PTA documentation under your supervision on a weekly basis
Submit semi-annual program evaluations
CLIENT RELATIONS
Schedule, coordinate and/or conduct individual or group meetings with parents related to specific topics or areas of interest.
