We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Tax Accountant near Bel Air or Rising Sun, MD. The individual will be integral in processing and reviewing various tax returns, researching tax laws, and collaborating with different departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review a broad range of tax returns including federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities.
- Assist in the creation of tax provisions and financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Stay informed about changes in tax regulations and communicate their implications to clients and internal teams.
- Assist in responding to tax notices and audits by providing necessary documentation and analysis.
- Research and interpret tax laws to ensure compliance and identify opportunities for tax saving.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and tax planning.
- Provide support to senior tax accountants and managers with ad hoc projects and analysis as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and communicate their implications to clients and internal teams.
- Utilize tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Lacerte) and Microsoft Office Suite for various tasks.
- Apply strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to all tasks.
- Use excellent communication skills to explain complex tax issues to clients.
- Demonstrate high attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Must possess a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role within a CPA firm.
- Proven experience with Individual Tax Return preparation.
- Experience with Corporate Income Tax is required.
- Proficiency in Partnership Tax is a must.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics.
- Proficiency in using tax preparation and accounting software.
