Responsibilities:

The Licensing and Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the company adheres to relevant licensing requirements and compliance regulations. This role involves monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on compliance activities, as well as maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.

It serves as support for broker appointments and works in collaboration with underwriting and other Berkley companies to ensure timely licensing, broker onboarding, refreshed agreement updates and other activities in order to make the business process more efficient.

Key functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage external/internal compliance risks with respect to producer appointments and terminations, including conducting a producer licensing/appointment compliance audit of company processes, developing corrective action plan as necessary, and working with business units to implement any recommended change in procedures/processes.
  • Manage Agency & Producer contracts, including consolidating and/or revising contacts, updating existing appointment forms including Agency Contract Forms, Producer Profiles, Broker Questionnaires, etc.
  • Coordinate Agency & Individual producer appointments, renewals and terminations, including collecting the necessary information from prospective producers to effect insurer appointment and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Interact with internal customers to fully understand and anticipate their needs and to obtain information necessary to effect producer appointments and other regulatory requirements.
  • Develop policies and procedures to integrate regulatory requirements into core business operations.
  • Develop knowledge resources within other similar departments within WRBC group of companies.
  • Assist in the monitoring and analysis of various legislative and regulatory developments that may impact company operations.
  • Assist in the development of compliance tools and educate internal customers accordingly.
  • Conduct legal research on various regulatory topics, as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Business degree or equivalent work experience
  • Five or more years of property and casualty insurance experience.
  • Background in producer licensing/appointment process and administration of producer/agency contracts
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and interact with internal clients at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research, analyze and summarize new laws and regulations to ensure compliance with state requirements.
  • Ability to make sound and proper decisions by drawing on professional expertise.
  • Ability to perform multiple duties in a fast-paced environment, prioritize and organize assigned tasks.
