International Logistics & Compliance Specialist

Overview:

The International Logistics and Compliance Specialist is responsible for the coordination of the documentation, brokers and carriers process required by the US Customs and Government Agencies for entry and export of goods into and out of the United States on behalf of True Manufacturing.
The role is also responsible for analyzing and maintenance of master data (i.e. HTS values and Item classifications) as well as the proper associated recordkeeping. As may be required, this role serves as a backup for international shipment processing to coordinate and schedule inbound and outbound deliveries using ocean carriers, rail, less than truckload and truck load carriers.

These shipments will be coordinated with our sales and customer service departments.

Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be

assigned.
  • Communicate and work closely with customer service and distribution on getting products to the customer.
  • Build, process and rate shipments.
  • Freight bill approval.
  • Provide necessary documents for shipments leaving and/or arriving to the US.
  • Assist Customs Compliance Department with tasks related to the research and assignment of Country of Origin values for certain vendors and parts.
  • Conduct yearly solicitation of vendors to confirm County-of-Origin values
  • Research and manage Free Trade Agreements applicable to True Manufacturing
  • Maintain and update Harmonized Tariff Schedules
  • Regular and reliable attendance in the office is required.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
  • Education in international business, supply chain management or US Export Compliance accreditation or US Customs Broker License a plus.
  • One or more years of related experience required.
  • Prior transportation/logistics experience strongly desired.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

The hours for this position are 8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday.
