Part-Time Embedded Software Engineer

We seek an engineer who can diagnose and resolve complex problems from the low-level printed circuit board to the OS and application level. This position is onsite and located in our Mason, OH office.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and document software architecture for medical devices.
- Interface and lead both internal (SES) software teams and external (Client) software teams.
- Design and develop code to interface with various sensor and actuator elements.
- Develop and debug embedded systems.
- Support custom test equipment design and development efforts.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- BS Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or similar engineering field.
- Experience with embedded software design and development.
- Experience in software development for medical devices.
- Experience in medical device product lifecycle.
- Proficiency in programming in C.
- Proficiency in testing and defect management of embedded software.
- Experience with 8/16/32 bit microcontroller architectures.
- Experience in developing hardware interfaces: UART, SPI, I2C, ADC and driver development.
- Experience with software development lifecycle.
- Create, support, and maintain all necessary design and development documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Experience:
- Embedded Software
- Experience with C++ and/or assembly language.
- Experience with Android and/or IOS app development.
- Experience with BLE and/or Wireless protocols.
- Experience with ARM Cortex-M and/or Cortex-A microcontroller architectures.
- Experience with embedded RTOS for microcontrollers.
- Experience with electrical circuit design and development.
- Ability to assist in the definition of product architecture for both internal and customer-specific products.
- Ability to develop electrical schematics.
- Project lifecycle management.
