Staff Accountant

We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team as a growing industry leader located in East Syracuse, New York. In this role, you will manage and oversee various accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Bank Reconciliations, with the opportunity to suggest process improvements to management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the maintenance of vendor master and process approved purchase orders
• Handle the reconciliation of invoices to purchase orders within the Accounts Payable function
• Manage client data, pricing, and contracts spreadsheets in the Accounts Receivable function
• Process client purchase orders and post cash receipts to accounts receivable ledger
• Prepare and review statements of work and completion documentation
• Interact with client accounts payable teams to resolve issues
• Reconcile accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger and review the AR aging
• Conduct daily review of bank transactions for discrepancies and reconcile bank balance to the general ledger balance
• Calculate, track, and process project-based bonuses
• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis as required.
• Must have a degree in Accounting or a related field
• Proven experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Solid understanding of General Ledger operations
• Familiarity with Journal Entries preparation
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP software
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
