Atlanta - Staff Accountant

We are offering a permanent employment opportunity for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia. This role involves a wide range of accounting tasks, primarily focusing on maintaining the accuracy of our financial systems and ledgers, preparing financial records and reports, and coordinating financial activities with other departments.

• Accurately maintain general, revenue, expenditure, and grant/project ledgers and financial systems
• Analyze and audit transactions for proper account classification while resolving any discrepancies
• Prepare and review monthly, periodic, and annual financial, accounting, budgetary, and statistical studies and reports
• Assist in the preparation of assigned budgets, annual audit, and year-end closing
• Coordinate financial related activities with other departments and outside agencies
• Prepare journal entries for recording in the accounting system
• Audit accounting systems and procedures to ensure compliance with established policies
• Respond to queries and provide information to callers, visitors, and members of the City Council
• Assist in determining appropriate software programs for office and troubleshoot software problems
• Write policies and procedures for entering and reconciling various accounts, billings, lease purchase, payroll, and AP. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes
• Understanding and experience with Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Ability to handle Bank Reconciliations
• Competency in maintaining and managing General Ledger
• Familiarity with Journal Entries
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in the use of NetSuite software
• Knowledge of Oracle software
• Experience with QuickBooks software
• Familiarity with SAP software
