Accounting Specialist

The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter with a strong understanding of numerical procedures, and outstanding problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform routine accounting activities such as maintenance of the general ledger, preparation of various accounting statements and financial reports.
2. Review and process payments ensuring transactions are correctly recorded and entered into the system.
3. Prepare, review, reconcile, and issue bills, invoices, and account statements as per company procedures.
4. Monitor and review accounting related system reports for accuracy and completeness.
5. Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
6. Work with the financial team to prepare for audits and comply with internal control processes.
7. Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities.
8. Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
9. Oversee accounts receivable, accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
10. Respond to accounting inquiries from management in a timely fashion.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or related field.
2. Proven experience as an Accounting Specialist or in a similar role.
3. Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
4. Proficiency in using financial software and MS Office
5. A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
6. Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
8. Solid understanding of business principles and practices.
9. Exceptional ability to manage time and handle multiple tasks.
10. Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential information responsibly.
