Description:
The Desktop Installer / Integrator supports the INSCOM C2IO program by installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining hardware equipment and install user end device hardware integration across the enterprise departments. The technician will evaluate existing components or systems to determine integration requirements to meet organizational needs and process old devices and equipment for turn in, sanitization, degaussing, and destruction.
Responsibilities:
- Configures and installs new hardware; or replaces existing user systems
- Ensures proper configuration and performance of installed equipment
- Integrates desktop workstations and associated equipment throughout the network
- Loads approved OS images on new systems or existing systems requiring updates or repair
- Conducts life-cycle site surveys, planning, and design for small projects
- Conducts quality control to verify conformance to industry and government standards
- Assists is developing a list of materials and estimates installation timelines
- Works with other IT Support, Network Engineers, and Server Administrators
- Manages assigned tasks based upon severity, workflow, and time constraints
- Communicates clearly and respectfully with customers
- Documents project status at all intervals
- Maintains courteous and friendly rapport
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Active TS/SCI clearance (listed in DISS)
- Currently possess DoD 8570.1-M IAT Level II certification
- At least one (1) year of related experience
- Basic knowledge of desktops, laptops, printers, basic components, and accessories
- Understanding of IT infrastructure technologies, design, concepts, and theory
- Ability to kneel, squat, bend over, reach into tight spaces to complete work, and lift 45 pounds
Desired Qualifications:
- Knowledge of fiber and copper infrastructure
- Knowledge of Network Boot (PXE) environment and imaging of PCs
- Knowledge of MS Active Directory and adding PCs to an enterprise domain
- Knowledge of ITSM and Helpdesk Operations
- Basic knowledge of trouble ticketing systems (Microsoft System Center Service Manager (SCSM) or ServiceNow)
- Experience working with military, DoD civilians, or government contractors
