Role Overview
We are seeking a part-time Research Coordinator to manage and expand our Good Gamer Group (GGG) community, specifically focusing on teens and kids in the United States. This role involves fostering an authentic, trusted community, recruiting participants for focus groups and playtests, and ensuring successful participation in studies.Given the sensitivity of working with teens and kids, the ideal candidate will prioritize ethical practices, maintain compliance with all relevant laws and guidelines (e.g., COPPA), and work closely with parents or guardians to ensure transparency and proper consent.
Hours are flexible, but will primarily fall in the afternoons and evenings to align with participant availability. Occasional weekend work may also be required, depending on study timelines. This role may convert into a full-time position if successful.
Key Responsibilities
Community Growth & Engagement- Build and manage the teens and kids’ community within the Good Gamer Group in the USA, fostering authenticity, trust, and inclusivity.
- Act as the primary point of contact for parents/guardians and older participants, ensuring transparent and effective communication, including the provision of privacy notices and collection of parental consent.
- Organize community engagement activities to maintain participation and foster loyalty.
- Recruit teens and kids (through their parents) for focus groups and playtests while ensuring all participants meet research requirements.
- Screen participants carefully, working with parents/guardians to verify qualifications.
- Manage participant and parent/guardian inquiries, providing clear and compassionate support through email, phone, or messaging platforms.
- Monitor and review participant feedback and responses for quality assurance.
- Distribute study incentives and ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Coordinate logistics for focus groups and playtests, ensuring participants are prepared and on time.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and execute research studies tailored to the teen and kids’ demographic.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure compliance with all data privacy regulations, including but not limited to COPPA.
- Though not a requirement, ideal candidate can be onsite to check-in participants when studies are conducted.
- Assist with designing and executing recruitment strategies for teens and kids, including online advertising and social media campaigns targeting appropriate demographics, such as parenting communities.
- Ensure all campaigns are designed with sensitivity to the age group and comply with relevant advertising standards.
- Stay updated on laws and regulations concerning minors in research, including COPPA and similar frameworks.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure all processes adhere to ethical and legal standards.
- Foster a safe and positive environment for participants and their guardians.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, Marketing, or a related field. Experience managing a community of teens and kids can be a substitute for the education requirement.
- Previous or current experience managing a community of a market research panel or of teens and kids for another, similar purpose is strongly preferred; however, other types of related experience may be considered.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with participants, parents, and internal teams.
- An innovative self-starter who creates new solutions to old problems when it comes to participant recruitment.
- Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Familiarity with ethical and legal guidelines for working with minors and ensuring participant safety.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, survey platforms (e.g., Alchemer), and virtual communication tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams) strongly preferred.
- A passion for gaming and an understanding of the gaming industry is a plus.
- Availability to work flexible hours, primarily in the afternoons and evenings, to accommodate participant schedules.
Compensation
This is a part-time position with competitive hourly pay based on experience. Benefits include a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and innovative gaming research environment. This position may be converted into a full-time role if successful.
