Electrical Commissioning Team Lead

POSITION SUMMARY: As the Electrical Commissioning Team Lead, you will drive the commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of vehicle electrical, HVAC, and mechanical systems to meet production targets and ensure top performance. This role not only requires technical expertise but also the ability to lead a team effectively, solve complex challenges, and maintain high standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Technical Leadership: Oversee and guide the commissioning of electrical systems, ensuring quality and precision in troubleshooting and repairs. Serve as a subject matter expert for complex electrical issues, advising and supporting team members on advanced technical challenges.
- Problem Solving & Diagnostics: Lead diagnostic efforts on AC/DC systems, hybrid drives, PLCs, relay logic, and CAN networks, using multimeters and advanced troubleshooting tools. Resolve escalated issues and ensure minimal downtime.
- Continuous Improvement & Best Practices: Identify areas for process improvements within commissioning tasks and implement efficient methods to streamline workflows. Champion best practices in electrical safety, diagnostics, and repair.
- Documentation & Reporting: Track and document all diagnostic and repair work, including root cause analysis and corrective actions. Provide regular updates and comprehensive reports on vehicle status and repair outcomes to management.
- Mentorship & Development: Coach and mentor junior technicians, sharing knowledge and fostering growth within the team. Set an example in work ethic, safety, and technical skills, and facilitate ongoing learning opportunities for team members.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a liaison between commissioning, engineering, and production teams to ensure alignment on technical specifications and timelines. Provide feedback and recommendations to engineering teams for system improvements based on hands-on findings.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESFUL:
- Advanced Electrical Knowledge: Deep understanding of electrical theory, circuits, and systems (both AC and DC); experience with series/parallel circuits, relays, and CAN networks.
- PLC & Relay Logic: Ability to troubleshoot PLC systems and relay logic at an advanced level.
- Component & Schematic Familiarity: Recognize all NFI electrical components and interpret electrical schematics accurately.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and web browsers; intermediate computer skills preferred.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to safety policies and practices, especially with high voltage systems (200+ volts) and low-voltage systems (12V and 24V).
- Physical Requirements: Able to bend, stoop, reach, and climb ladders as needed.
