QA Engineer II (Supplier Quality Engineer) - Tampa

Summary:
This position will be responsible for providing management and oversight, including onsite support, for their assigned supply base. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for identifying and mitigating supplier risks, ensuring on time and accurate submission of Supplier Deliverable Documentation Requirements, analyze defects, and conduct root cause analysis as applicable to eliminate defects and improve product quality, cost and schedule.
Onsite supplier visits:
- Process and quality system audits to ensure compliance to specifications and documented procedures
- Assess suppliers’ capabilities and capacity and identify supplier risks
- Support and/or witness of first article acceptance testing as applicable by program needs
- Drive deployment of quality requirements, initiatives, and training to supply base
Develop/prepare Supplier documentation:
- Inspection plans and procedures as applicable to support program quality needs
- Customer/Supplier Deliverable Documentation Requirements (SDRL’s/CDRL’s)
- Measurement System Evalution (MSE) and/or Acceptance Inspection Equipment (AIE) Documentation
- Statement of work or quality clauses for contract flowdowns to support purchase orders
- Review drawings for flow down of applicable program quality requirements
- Ensure measurement system for quality costs, indicators, trends, and supplier ratings for assigned supplier base is maintained.
- Ensure nonconformance (NC’s) and corrective actions are initiated in accordance with internal procedures
- Lead corrective action teams to determine root cause and corrective actions for nonconformances identified on assigned supply base
Major Position Responsibilities:
- Establishes quality standards for products and processes and suggest modifications meant to prevent defects in components or final products.
- Works closely with cross-functional teams, including product design, product management, and production, to identify and mitigate quality risks.
- Audits production processes, raw materials, or suppliers/vendors to ensure that established quality standards are met.
- Conducts root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or other quality failures.
- May be responsible for ensuring compliance with formal external quality standards, such as ISO 9001.
Basic Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in general Engineering or specialized Engineering OR equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
- 2-4 years experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other Engineering-related degree
- Relevant Supplier Quality Engineering experience within Manufacturing, Military, Aerospace/Aviation, Automotive industry
- ISO9001:2015 Lead auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor
- Strong Mechanical Background
