We are offering a short-term contract employment opportunity for an Accountant to join our team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The primary function of this role is to support a busy accounting team on a part-time basis (20-30 hours) through various responsibilities such as account and bank reconciliations, and the preparation of various reports.
This role resides within the industry of accounting and financial services.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing account and bank reconciliations and investigating any variances found
- Assisting in the preparation of documents for record retention purposes
- Assisting in preparing various reports for Asset Management, Fund Management, Corporate Tax, and Investment Reporting
- Preparing documentation in PDF and making appropriate edits.
- Documenting processes and procedures, complying with internal risk policies and controls, and maintaining evidence in an effective manner
- Assisting with various projects and tasks as required
- Loading documents into the filing retention system
- Utilizing skills in Bank Reconciliations, Month End Close, Microsoft Excel, and PDFs.
- Applicants should possess proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in bank reconciliations is a key requirement for this role.
- Candidates should have experience in month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in handling and managing PDF documents is required.
- A professional qualification in accounting or a related field is required.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
- Knowledge of accounting software and systems is a plus.
