Volunteer Coordinator

Assists in developing, implementing and coordinating volunteer programs and services. This position may assume some weekend and evening responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Performs a variety of general administrative functions assigned by department manager or higher.
- Recruits, supervises and trains volunteers, coordinates scheduling of their interviews, orientations, training, annual in-services, and monthly work schedules. Conducts interviews and orientations. Assists with teen volunteer program as appropriate.
- Assists with writing and maintaining newsletters, and training materials.
- Assists in maintaining accurate and current database for volunteers. Records worked hours, medical requirements, confidentiality agreements, annual in-service, mandatory training, recognition, uniforms, ID badges, and computer security access. Conducts criminal background checks.
- Assists in coordinating special events for volunteers
- Assists with defining, implementing and maintaining service standards and quality control procedures.
- Supports volunteers in all service roles and locations
- Assists in volunteer appreciation opportunities and contributions. Work with the team to develop and maintain a comprehensive recognition plan that supports volunteers in their roles and connects them to the mission and each other
- Assists in creating or acquiring appropriate fliers or promotional materials for stores & events
- Provides support to the Volunteer Board.
- Provides operational support to the Meals on Wheels program, Mercyhealth Safe Connect program and Association of Volunteer Chairperson as requested and/or needed

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors’ Degree in Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare, Education or related field preferred. Working knowledge of databases and Microsoft 365, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.At least one year of customer service or coordinating activities/events. Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE
High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelors’ Degree in Communications, Human Resources, Business Administration, Healthcare, Education or related field preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring). Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or IL Health Care Workers Background Check. Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent interpersonal/communication skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to interact effectively with diverse populations. Excellent team coordination abilities, promoting teamwork and collaboration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Occupational Exposure: Category B -Some partners in the specified job classification have occupational exposure.
