Systems Network Engineer

We are offering a contract employment opportunity in San Jose, California, for a Systems Network Engineer. This role is focused on both system and network administration within the industry. The workplace is dynamic and requires an individual with a solid understanding of VMware, on-premises, and some cloud technology, as well as networking and firewall configuration skills.

Responsibilities:

• Administering and maintaining systems and networks in a variety of settings.
• Configuring and managing firewalls to ensure the security of our systems.
• Utilizing VMware to facilitate virtualization in our infrastructure.
• Employing on-premises technology for data management and system support.
• Leveraging cloud technology where appropriate to enhance system efficiency.
• Troubleshooting and resolving system and network issues promptly.
• Monitoring system performance and implementing improvements as needed.
• Collaborating with the team to design, implement, and maintain robust network architectures.
• Ensuring the integrity of high availability network infrastructure in order to provide maximum performance for users.
• Undertaking data network fault investigations in local and wide area environments.
• Extensive experience as a Systems Network Engineer or in a similar role.
• Proficient in VMware and Azure Active Directory.
• Strong understanding of networking, including setup and maintenance.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve network issues effectively.
• Demonstrable experience with network security practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based networking.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
• Familiarity with network architecture and implementation.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing network systems.
• Knowledge of network management software tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar will be a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
