Job Description:
- The Nuclear Medicine Technologist will perform diagnostic imaging and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials to evaluate and treat various medical conditions. This role involves preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals, operating nuclear medicine equipment, and ensuring patient safety during procedures. The technologist will also be responsible for processing and analyzing imaging data.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and position patients for nuclear medicine procedures.
- Perform nuclear imaging procedures, including PET scans, bone scans, cardiac studies, and other diagnostic tests.
- Prepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely.
- Operate nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring it is properly maintained and calibrated.
- Follow all safety protocols related to radiation exposure and handling of radioactive materials.
- Process and analyze imaging data, working closely with radiologists and physicians for accurate diagnosis.
Requirements:
Experience:
- Prior experience in nuclear medicine – Required.
Certifications:
- Current NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification – Required.
- BLS certification – Required.
Technology:
- Familiarity with nuclear medicine imaging systems – Required.
License:
- Must hold a valid Nuclear Medicine Technologist license for the state of New Hampshire.
