Warehouse Team Lead

POSITION SUMMARY
The Warehouse Lead operates as a hands-on leader, serving and motivating warehouse employees, leading by example, and fostering a positive team-building atmosphere. They will perform daily warehouse duties as expected of a level III associate.In the absence of the Supervisor, the Warehouse Lead will perform all day-to-day functions of the Supervisor including security of the building.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Ensure a culture of safety by enforcing safety standards and adhering to operational procedures.
- Lead by example to ensure that all procedures and best practices are consistently followed.
- Perform daily warehouse duties as directed by the Supervisor.
- Assist with direction of associates and management of daily workflow within the framework of daily assignment.
- Support other team members by being an expert in appropriate systems- i.e. WMS, Oracle.
- Assist in training of new associates as required.
- Assist in leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist in implementing lean objectives and 5S activities.
- Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the assigned area in the absence of the PDC Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
- HS Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of warehouse experience, distribution environment preferred.
- Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, TMS, and Oracle experience a plus.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
- Strong people skills including communication, conflict management, empathy, active listening, negotiation, positive attitude, ability to mediate disputes, being tolerant of differences, and teamwork.
- Material handling equipment experience, including forklift, reach truck, and cherry picker required.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Good problem solving and reasoning skills.
