Job Description
Key Responsibilities for the Construction Safety Director/EHS Director:
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive safety programs across multiple job sites to ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and establish corrective actions.
- Lead safety training sessions for all employees, ensuring they understand and comply with safety protocols and environmental guidelines.
- Act as the point of contact for all safety-related matters, including incident investigations, reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Coordinate with senior management and project managers to develop site-specific safety plans, addressing project-specific risks and ensuring a safe working environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices, emerging safety regulations, and technology.
- Oversee the development of emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and first aid protocols.
- Track and report on key safety metrics and performance indicators to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of continuous safety improvement and provide leadership in safety initiatives and compliance audits.

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Construction Safety Director/EHS Director should have:
- Proven experience (5+ years) in construction safety management, with specific expertise in EHS regulations and OSHA standards.
- A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications such as OSHA, CSP (Certified Safety Professional), CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician), or equivalent are strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and promote a culture of safety at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to assess risks, provide practical safety solutions, and implement safety initiatives effectively.
- A proactive, detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
