We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Distribution Design Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in Oak Brook, Illinois. Responsibilities & Duties::
Role Expectations:
- Leads projects and project team in the execution of several mid-to-large scale projects
- Execute complex designs for overhead and underground power installations; work on challenging assignments that include investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of overhead/underground distribution engineering and constructability related issues; and lead projects
- Execute complex designs for overhead and underground power installations
- Communicates and coordinates project activities with internal team members
- Charged with ensuring projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget
- Perform independent reviews of work performed by others including calculations and drawing preparation
- Perform Quality Assurance (QA) design reviews and Peer Reviews for all project documents
- Assists in the preparation of scoping documents and fees
- Resolves design questions and technical concerns
- Promote a proactive safety culture by encouraging open communication, reporting unsafe conditions, and suggesting improvements to safety practices
- Diligently ensure compliance with safety regulations, conducting safety inspections, and identifying potential hazards to mitigate risks and maintain a safe working environment for all personnel
Qualifications & Skills::
What we’re looking for:
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an accredited university
- 5+ years of experience with Distribution Design
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
- Previous PECO experience preferred
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards
- Ability to interface effectively with clients, employees, and management team is essential
