THE WELL is seeking an experienced and passionate kitchen Assistant. The ideal candidate will have previous food preparation skills, dishwashing and cleaning experience, and have a drive for success. The Person We Need
Food Handling- Food preparation, assist line cooks, prepare meals by washing, peeling and cutting ingredients.
- Set up workstations and ingredients so food can be prepared according to recipes.
- Prepare drinks, smoothies and simple dishes.
- Package takeaway meals for guests.
- Comfortable multi-tasking between dishwashing, cleaning and preparation responsibilities.
- Inventory support, organize food storage and keep track of par levels for ordering needs.
- Inform management when stock of food items or supplies are low.
- Receiving and unpack deliveries, ensuring all food and supplies are correctly stored.
- Wash dishes, equipment and utensils, ensure that equipment and dishes are cleaned, sanitized and ready to prepare and serve food.
- Sanitize kitchen surfaces, counters, stovetops and other places where food is prepared to meet health regulations.
- Expertise with automatic dishwashing machines and kitchen cleaning equipment.
- General cleaning, sweep and mop the floors, wipe out trash cans, change garbage liners and clean and organize food storage.
- Work to ensure the highest quality of the kitchen operations.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.
- Required: at least 1 year kitchen experience
- Preferred: Food Handling Certification
- Time management: must follow a schedule and easily transition between tasks
- Teamwork: ability to work in a fast-paced environment, take direction and understand the workflow
- Communication: ability to clearly explain where items are and how much inventory is on-hand
- Food safety and sanitizing procedures: help keep food from cross-contaminating and ensure that surfaces are clean, knowledge of food safety, and store food properly
- Attention to detail: ability to organize, clean and store essential items
- Physical stamina: may stand and perform repetitive movements for long periods and lift heavy objects
