Accounts Receivable Specialist

Our client is currently looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our financial department in the Galleria area of Houston. The Accounts Receivable Specialist will be primarily responsible for the processing, recording, and collection of payments and receivables, as well as resolve any payment discrepancies and disputes.

Responsibilities:

• Processing daily financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts receivable data.
• Posting customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Updating receivables by totaling unpaid invoices and verifying the validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information from sales, trade promotions, customer service departments, and customers.
• Facilitating swift payment of invoices due by sending bill reminders and contacting clients.
• Appearing and preparing the appropriate reports related to accounts receivable, including aging schedules, bad debt, and collection reports.
• Maintaining an organized and streamlined accounting system.
• Ensuring that all transactions comply with company policies and federal regulations, such as SOX.
• Communicating with clients about billing discrepancies and questions.
• Engaging in the ongoing learning of new accounting policies and procedures.
• Proven working experience as an accounts receivable clerk or specialist.
• Solid understanding of billing and financial concepts.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with accounting software, as well as MS Excel.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• The ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines.
