System/Network Administrator

Central Texas Recruiting is seeking a System/Network Administrator to support IT operations for our client in Columbia, MD. This role involves managing and securing the Corporate IT environment and infrastructure supporting CyberPoints product offerings.The ideal candidate will have experience with macOS, Windows, Linux servers, Cisco networking equipment, Office 365, Amazon Web Services, and Atlassian Cloud.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and secure servers, networks, and systems, ensuring reliability and performance.Implement vulnerability management activities, analyzing system data and enhancing security measures.
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues across servers, client devices, and network infrastructure.
Monitor system alerts and proactively address potential security and operational concerns.
Advise users and management on IT best practices, security protocols, and system updates.
Manage IT help desk operations, including logging and resolving user issues while maintaining clear documentation.
Track and maintain user accounts, including access rights, permissions, and group assignments.
Maintain an inventory of all IT hardware, software, and software licenses.
Stay up to date with the latest system updates, security trends, and IT advancements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship is required.7+ years of experience as a System/Network Administrator.
Experience managing macOS and Windows environments.
Hands-on experience with: Microsoft Active Directory (AD), ADFS, Exchange Server, WSUS, and Microsoft 365/Office 365.
TCP/IP networking, including routing, DNS, DHCP, NFS, CIFS, and SMTP.System and network security concepts and best practices, including hardening OS and network devices.
Scripting languages (Linux shell, PowerShell).
Public Key Infrastructure (PKI).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to security and confidentiality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service-oriented mindset.
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Physical ability to move IT equipment (up to 50 lbs) and access wiring and hardware as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience integrating multi-factor authentication technologies.Experience managing Linux environments.
Hands-on experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), including EC2, S3, and VPC.
Experience with Cisco networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
Experience with Atlassian Cloud, Jira Service Management, munki, and autopkg (macOS).
Certifications preferred: Cisco (CCNA, CCNP, or similar)
Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE, or similar)AWS (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS SysOps Administrator, etc.)
