Job Overview & Responsibilities:

The Data Analyst is a mid-level individual contributor role focused on leveraging technical expertise to analyze and visualize data, supporting decision-making across the organization. This role requires proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and business intelligence (BI) tools, as well as the ability to troubleshoot and resolve data issues independently.

The Data Analyst contributes to cross-functional projects, proactively identifies data-driven solutions, and fosters a positive team culture.

Essential Functions
  • Leverage expert-level SQL to extract, transform, and analyze data.
  • Provide technical support to data architecture, query optimization, and operational insights initiatives with minimal oversight from senior members.
  • Design, build, and maintain reports and dashboards using enterprise BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, ThoughtSpot).
  • Automate recurring data requests to streamline processes and improve efficiency and workload capacity.
  • Perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve data anomalies and inconsistencies with a high degree of quality and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.
  • Take ownership of individual projects, ensuring key milestones are met with high-quality deliverables.
  • Escalate blockers and propose solutions to ensure project timelines are maintained.
  • Facilitate discussions with business stakeholders to gather and clarify requirements for data requests.
  • Define project scope and present project updates, milestones, and resource needs proactively to ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to develop data-driven solutions that address business challenges and improve data literacy throughout the organization.
  • Contribute to fostering a collaborative and positive team culture through knowledge sharing and teamwork.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications & Pay Range:

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Information Systems preferred (equivalent experience in healthcare analytics related fields or equivalent work experience accepted)
  • 4+ years of relevant health care data experience with exposure to medical claims, electronic health records, insurance eligibility data or referral network data.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated proficiency in data management and manipulation techniques including strong SQL programming skills to analyze large disparate datasets.
  • Demonstrated ability of automating routine data requests.
  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts and their application in analytics projects.
  • 2+ years demonstrating proficiency in BI tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Power BI, Tableau) to create visualizations that support decision-making.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot data issues independently.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and presenting data insights.
  • Demonstrated ability in documenting technical assets including standard operating procedures, data dictionaries, and features or sources included in data visualization solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with version control systems (Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, GitLab).
  • Ability to use agile methodologies to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively to meet project deadlines.
  • Must live in Atlanta area as the role is hybrid
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with automation tools or scripting for recurring data processes (e.g. Python).
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS) and their application in data projects.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies and project management tools.
  • Understanding of data governance principles and compliance standards.
