We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a Database Administrator based in San Diego, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining our enterprise-wide database footprint, ensuring optimal performance and up-time of production systems, and providing primary database support.

You will also be tasked with the development and implementation of disaster recovery recommendations and the orchestration of database change management.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the enterprise-wide database inventory, including version upgrades and security patches.
  • Monitor database performance to ensure maximum up-time of production systems.
  • Perform database backups and restorations as required.
  • Ensure database supportability and apply best practice security measures to database environments.
  • Act as primary database support, performing root cause analysis when issues arise.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery recommendations for company databases.
  • Manage all aspects of database change management, applying server resources and properly documenting to maintain and audit company data environments.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other technology and business teams, providing database support as required to meet business needs.
  • Participate in technology projects, performing functions such as database schema design, object creation, and implementation.
  • Perform activities related to data movement/ETL and configuration and maintenance of database user and role security.
  • Assist in the timely resolution of issues in development, testing, and production environments, documenting root cause analysis as required.
  • Work with cross-functional IT and enterprise teams to build alignment and model commitment to high performance. • Demonstrated proficiency in database management and administration
  • Familiarity with EO/IR systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Expertise in MySQL
  • Understanding of Backup Technologies
  • Knowledge of Cluster Analysis
  • Proficiency in Configuration Management
  • Prior experience in Database Administration
  • Ability to implement and manage design controls
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience
  • Certification in Database Administration is a plus.
