POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Security Operations Manager provides operational support, value-added services, management, training, and direction for Tarian account security staff.
Compensation: $50-$60k
Responsibilities:
General Duties- Effectively hires, manages, motivates, coaches, and formally evaluates the performance of all direct reports.
- Supervises security facility supervisors and staff, as well as assists with areas of responsibility as needed.
- Assists with client and security personnel investigations and provides input for disciplinary activities.
- Assists in the development of and ensures the completion of competency tasks and facility post orders / instructions.
- Develops and implements internal controls to ensure field staff compliance with facility orders, competency tasks, and assigned duties.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines for field operations.
- Coordinates resources and ensures adequate security coverage of client locations, to include extra coverage and special events.
- Analyzes account effectiveness, productivity, and profitability and makes recommendations to the General Manager.
- Coordinates and assists with various security personnel training programs as needed.
- Promotes corporate policy and procedures.
- Ensures company non-billable overtime goals are met.
- Works and interacts in a positive way with other employees, prospective employees, prospective and current clients, sales representatives, vendors, and visitors.
- Ensures state licensing, training, and compliance requirements are met.
- Visits client account sites during normal business hours and after hours at least twice monthly to meet with clients and Tarian staff to evaluate staff appearance and performance, counsel and train Tarian staff, and to document observations, actions, client concerns or issues, and follow up corrective actions.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with client facility representatives and other facility management personnel, and local public safety agencies.
- Writes letters of recognition and thank you notes for successful or positive situations involving Tarian company staff.
- Assists with crafting responses to RFPs.
- Participates as a transition team member for all newly acquired security clients, as needed.
- Works with fleet manager to coordinate the assignment, repair, and maintenance of field vehicles.
- Conducts staff meetings.
- Prepares reports and conducts presentations.
- Trains security personnel as necessary.
- Provides other duties at the direction of, or in the absence of, the General Manager.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE- High school Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, preferred. Significant direct industry related experience may be substituted for education. A minimum of 2 – 3 years security management/supervisory experience is required.
- Obtains and maintains an active General Classroom Instructor license issued by the Georgia Board of Private Detective and Security Agencies.
- Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification or Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) certification is highly desired.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership, site leadership, and entry-level personnel.

- Conceptual and critical thinking skills and the ability to present ideas in a clear and compelling manner with attention to detail.
- Proficiency with computers as well as word processing, data management, and spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Office products to include ability to learn Tarian approved systems and applications.
- Proven ability to work as part of a high-performance team.
- Current and valid driver license and ability to meet the company’s driving requirements.
- Excellent people skills and ability to develop and manage successful business relationships with clients and prospective clients.
- Ability to perform duties while maintaining a high degree of judgment, discretion, and confidentiality.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, individual may be required to:
- Sit for extended periods using computer and telephone equipment in a typical office setting.
- May spend time walking and standing.
- May lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to safely drive a vehicle.
- Will use normal range of vision, hearing, and speaking.
- Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
- While visiting client locations, may occasionally be exposed to changes in temperatures, humidity, chemicals, bodily fluids, and other conditions commonly found in client environments.
