Benefits Specialist

Nick Corieri with Robert Half has an excellent opportunity to join a great HR team at a local company, based in Syracuse, New York, as a Benefits Specialist. In this role, you will be delivering administrative and technical support, predominantly focusing on employee benefits and leaves of absence.

Responsibilities:

• Administer various employee benefit programs, including but not limited to medical coverage, dental insurance, group life insurance, and retirement plans.
• Provide counselling and advice to employees on matters of eligibility and other issues related to benefit coverage and leaves of absence.
• Ensure the accurate maintenance of employee benefit records and leaves of absence records.
• Prepare necessary documents related to benefits and leaves of absence.
• Handle the administration of 401k - RRSP Administration and Cobra Administration.
• Oversee the Leave Administration and Leave of Absence functions.
• Utilize HRIS System for efficient management of benefits and leaves.
• Manage the EOB - Explanation of Benefits and Employee Benefit Plan.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and company regulations related to benefits and leaves of absence.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Benefits Specialist role or similar position
• Proficient in 401k - RRSP Administration
• Demonstrable experience in Benefit Functions
• Skilled in Cobra Administration
• Experience in Leave Administration and managing Leaves of Absence
• Proficiency in Benefits Administration
• Ability to understand and explain EOB - Explanation of Benefits
• Familiarity with Employee Benefit Plan
• Proficient in using HRIS System
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical problem-solving abilities
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
