Landfill Gas Operations Maintenance Tech
Oversee the operation of, and possess the skills necessary, to maintain the operation of a multi-step process for the purification of landfill gas (LFG)
Technician should be fully capable of monitoring and operating a wide range of equipment and processes including high pressure compressors, coolers, heat exchangers, temperature and pressure swing adsorption, filtration and molecular gate separation, thermal oxidizers and diesel-engine powered generators on an assigned shift.Individual should be capable of working with a minimum of supervision and have the capability of analyzing and troubleshooting the processes to maintain efficient operation of the facility.
Operate computer-based control system to control gas processing plant as well as power production plantUse computer applications including, but not limited to e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet programs
Operate control panels for starting, stopping, operating and adjusting gas compressors, pumps, gas blowers, temperature and pressure swing adsorption systems, molecular gate separators, thermal oxidizers, air compressors and other associated equipment, based on plant operating parameters to keep plant in operation under a wide range of conditions
Start, stop and operate diesel powered generators
Carry out preventive maintenance and minor repairs on above listed equipment
Support various tradesmen (electricians, mechanics) during major repairs of generators, compressors, engines and other equipmentInterpret trended data, identify and report irregularities and make adjustments to the processes to prevent and/or correct failures
Sample process gas at several sample points for Gas Chromatograph or outside lab analysis
Read and interpret sampled gas analyses, Gas Chromatograph and other analysis instrumentation to adjust process for best quality productRecord, update and maintain operations log for each shift, including the documentation of actions taken, production data, fuel usage, fuel delivery, etc.
Perform detailed turnovers at shift change to ensure incoming personnel are aware of current condition of plant and any developing conditions to be aware of, as well as any issues that were observed and/or corrected during the previous shift
