Service Maintenance Technician I
Adecco is assisting a local customer in Vernon, CT, hiring a Service Maintenance Technician I to work Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM with a pay range of $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Service Maintenance Technician I to join our team. Under the direction of the Service Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for general maintenance and janitorial tasks to preserve the property and provide a quality living environment for residents.The primary accountability includes maintaining the cleanliness, physical appearance, and presentation of the community while fostering positive relationships with team members and residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide basic support in repairing appliances, carpentry, hardware, masonry, painting, and basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC maintenance.
- Respond to and complete all service requests and on-call emergencies promptly and professionally as directed by the Community Manager or Service Manager.
- Assist in preventive maintenance tasks for building systems, equipment, and components.
- Prepare and perform repairs on vacant apartments for new resident move-ins.
- Maintain grounds and common areas through cleaning, trash management, landscaping, and snow removal.
- Assist with REAC/HQS inspections and agency audits.
- Maintain the Maintenance shop and inventory to company standards, focusing on safety including appropriate use of PPE.
- Available for weekend work, on-call rotation, and emergency service call duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English; bilingual skills are a plus.
- Basic computer and handheld device skills.
- Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws & Guidelines is advantageous.
- Familiarity with all hand and power tools, cleaning supplies, and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
- Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
- Superior customer service skills, including managing difficult customers and situations.
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
- Occasionally ascends/descends ladders to service lights and ceiling fans.
- Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across sites.
- Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions.
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of experience in maintenance, janitorial, landscape, or handyman work preferred.

Pay Details: $19.00 to $21.00 per hour
