[ref. h5936502] Temporary Mathematics Team Coordinator, Faculty
Overview:
The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy is currently looking for a Temporary Team Coordinator for the Mathematics Team. This is a stipend position and will begin in January 2025 and continue through a portion or possibly all of second semeter.The Team Coordinator for the academic disciplines provides instructional leadership and enhances articulation regarding curriculum alignment to IMSA’s mission, beliefs, and SSLs.
Responsibilities:
Expectations- Support the Academy’s mission, beliefs, equity and excellence policies as well as other institutional priorities
- Perform all faculty-related responsibilities, inside and outside of the classroom at the level that meets or exceeds expectations
- Demonstrate knowledge of instructional best practices and developments within the discipline
- Facilitate open, candid, and effective lines of communication with colleagues, students, parents, and other stakeholder groups
- Advocate for the success of all students
- Demonstrate mutual respect and trust among colleagues, promote positive morale, and mediate conflicts
- Promote positive and productive relationships between colleagues, students, parents and community
- Adhere to Board and administrative policies
- Lead the team in curriculum and program reviews and revision of the program and curricula through an equity lens
- Supports the design and implementation of a comprehensive assessment system
- Collects and analyzes data to inform and support student centered learning and instructional practices
- Responsible for the administrative logistics and planning for the team, including but not limited to supply orders and coordination of the team’s master schedule
- Scheduling and coordination of the Collegial Support Teams for initial contract teachers in their department
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Qualifications- Must be a current IMSA faculty member
- Must be on a continuing contract
- Must be in good standing with the Academy at the time of application and throughout tenure in the position
- "Good standing" means that the employee has satisfactory performance as evidenced by the most recent annual evaluation or principal recommendations for faculty. Additionally, the employee is not on any type of performance or discipline warnings and/or plans and has not had any unresolved, meaningful performance/behavior problems in the twelve months preceding application for this position (ref: Sabbatical Policy, GSL).
- Member of the respective team with a deep understanding of both core and elective offerings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact in a collaborative, collegial, and diverse environment
Compensation: $6300 in year 1, $6400 in year 2, $6500 in year 3, $6600 in year 4. Rate will be pro-rated based on time worked.
Ten Month + 10 work days in the summer. The TC and principal or designee will mutually agree tothese days.

Only having one applicant from a department does not guarantee the position to that individual. In the event that the position cannot be filled internally, if a new teacher hired has the stipulated years of experience, he or she can be hired.Otherwise, the position can be assigned by administration or the PO will take full responsibility for the role of Team Coordinator for that department.
