Job Overview:
Cryogenic Pump and Turboexpander packages require electrical and control design engineering. The electrical and control engineer is responsible for the in accordance with the project specifications/standards and in coordination with the other engineering disciplines.Responsible for the design and successful operation of the complete control system, PLC programing and FAT testing. Coordinating with the project manager to ensure the control system documents and drawings are released within the project timeframe and per projects specification requirements while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
Documenting designs and specifications. Being updated on the latest instrumentation and control systems standards and products. The Instrument and control design engineer will provide innovative solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare electrical and control design for packaging
- Preparation of the design drawings and documentation to meet project requirements
- Preparation of the electrical B.O.M. and detail components and related specifications.
- Preparing purchasing specifications for electrical and control components, i.e., instruments, motors and generators, control panels, electric heater, PLC, UPS system and other components.
- Review job specific specifications and provide comments if applicable.
- Communicate with electric shop, vendors and engineering team of EPCs.
- Have a strong understanding of product instrumentation and control design process for turbo machine control system and component selection based on the job specific requirements.
- Have a strong knowledge of design and CAD drafting practice.
- Interact confidently with Engineering team, and application groups and providing accurate technical information.
- Review and maintain the latest revision and documentation.
- Possible traveling to customer sites if requested by engineering.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
- 3-5 years’ experience working as an instrument and control engineer especially in turbo machinery.
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC), UL, International Electrical Standards (IEC) , CE Directives, ATEX, etc., ISA Standards, Hazardous codes, CSA electrical panel safety codes and SIS
- Application of the above standards to cryogenic pumps and turboexpander control systems.
- Demonstrate an excellence interpersonal skills including communication, be a self-starter, have a positive make-happen attitude, to be able to handle multiple tasks, and be a team player.
- Demonstrate the ability to self-improvement.
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.
Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
