Technician, Laboratory Generalist - Laboratory - Bridgeton

MAJOR FUNCTION: Performs testing and quality control procedures as a generalist in all operational departments relevant to the site and shift of hire. Operates instrumentation, prepares reagents and reports results according to established policies and procedures.
Performs all testing under the supervision of a Laboratory Department Manager, Laboratory Site Manager /Supervisor or Lead Technologist. Communicates with nursing/physicians regarding patient results and assist in various projects as needed. Must be able to work independently.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Certification:

  • Associate of Science in laboratory science preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent with 50-week military training as Medical Lab Specialist or graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory or Clinical Laboratory training program.
  • 1 to 3 years clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Certification/Licensure:

  • ASCP or equivalent, certified, or eligible, required.
  • Certification must be achieved within 12 months after hire date.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
