Job Summary:

The Bartender at Alpine Country Club is responsible for providing exceptional service by preparing and serving high-quality beverages to our guests. The primary objective is to ensure every guest has a memorable experience that encourages them to return.

Activities and Responsibilities:

Primary:

  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following the restaurant’s standard recipes.
  • Verify guests' age by checking identification to comply with alcohol service regulations.
  • Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions about beverages.
  • Take food and beverage orders from serving staff or directly from bar guests.
  • Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks accurately and efficiently.
  • Serve snacks or food items to bar guests.
  • Record drink orders promptly and accurately in the register system.
  • Balance receipts and cash transactions.
  • Learn and address regular guests by name, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Monitor and manage alcohol consumption to prevent over-serving, offering alternative transportation if necessary.
  • Clean and sanitize glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.
  • Maintain bar inventory by restocking beer, wine, liquor, ice, glassware, napkins, and straws.
  • Clean and reset bar areas, workspaces, and tables.
  • Prepare garnishes such as fruit slices and pits for drinks.
  • Arrange and organize bottles and glasses for efficient and attractive presentation.
  • Ensure cleanliness of all bar areas including counters, sinks, shelves, and storage areas.
  • Report equipment issues and maintenance needs to the restaurant manager.
  • Attend employee meetings and contribute suggestions for continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate with colleagues to meet guest needs and support restaurant operations.
  • Provide backup support in various roles to ensure exceptional guest service and operational efficiency.

Supplemental:

  • Organize and oversee the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar area as needed.
  • Manage inventory by ordering and requisitioning liquors and supplies.
  • Supervise and train bar staff and other bartenders.
  • Create bar menus and develop new drink recipes.
  • Prepare appetizers and snacks such as pickles, cheese, and cold meats.

Tools and Technology:

  • Point-of-sale terminals (POS), POS software, and workstations.
  • Computers, tablets, smartphones, and handheld devices for order management and communication.
  • Office suite software, back-office accounting systems, route planning tools, and web-based applications.
  • Office equipment including fax machines, printers, phone systems, and barcode readers.
  • Carbonated beverage dispensers, draught beer systems, and soda dispensers.
  • Cocktail shakers, pour spouts, spirit measures, and various bartending tools.
  • Commercial blenders, graters, cutlery, dishwashers, juicers, mixers, and strainers.
  • Mist or trigger sprayers for drink preparation.
  • Ice shaver machines, ice crushers, and ice flakers for preparing chilled beverages.
  • Non-carbonated beverage dispensers and slush/frozen drink machines.

Pay Range: USD $21.00 - USD $25.00 /Hr.
