Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in New York. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for various accounting tasks such as processing customer credit applications, maintaining customer credit records, and resolving customer inquiries.
You will also monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.
Responsibilities:- Review and process customer credit applications in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate customer credit records
- Respond to and resolve customer inquiries related to their accounts
- Monitor customer accounts and initiate actions as required
- Download bank statements and utilize Excel to review income sources
- Assist with journal entries and general ledger maintenance
- Conduct accounts payable and receivable tasks as necessary
- Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records
- Analyze data related to accounts payable and make necessary adjustments

- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience with Bank Reconciliations
- Familiarity with General Ledger management
- Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
- detail oriented certification such as CPA is a plus.
