We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in San Francisco, California. The chosen candidate will play a critical role in maintaining financial accuracy for a non-profit organization. The job function includes handling financial records, supporting monthly closing procedures, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct bank reconciliations and manage investment accounting.
• Carry out general journal entries.
• Oversee fixed asset tracking and calculate depreciation.
• Perform financial analysis and generate reports.
• Keep track of expense reports.
• Investigate and rectify accounting errors.
• Provide assistance during audits.
• Stay informed about changes in industry standards.
• Utilize accounting software such as Sage Intaact for various financial operations.
• Ensure all accounts payable and receivable are handled properly.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar accounting position
• Proficient in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experienced in performing bank reconciliations
• Ability to maintain and manage the general ledger effectively
• Skilled in preparing and posting journal entries
• Demonstrated experience with month-end close procedures
• Familiarity with Sage Intacct accounting software is a must
