Nutrition Assistant (Bilingual Spanish/English)
This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals with (or pursuing) a Bachelor's in Nutrition to embark on their career in Nutrition/Health and Wellness at Urban Health Plan! Growth opportunities become available with additional experience and credentialing.
Minimum Qualifications:-High School diploma required. Associates or Bachelor's Degree a plus, ideally in Health Education, Nutrition, Community Health or related field of study. -0-1 years of related experience.-Bilingual Spanish/English required.-Good public speaking skills and communication skills are required.-Food Handler Certification, a plus.
Key Duties:- Assists Nutritionist with carrying out activities.
- Conducts nutrition consults and screenings.
-Assist with reviewing and addressing nutrition referrals generated by providers.-Provide preventive education to low risk patients and refer high risk patients to the nutritionist/CDN.-Make reminder phone calls to patients .-Assist with food insecurity programs and outreach events.-Attend departmental meetings.
Work Environment Type, Location, and Schedule: Onsite, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Some Saturdays as neededStarting Compensation: Minimum $40,000 per year; Maximum $46,000 per year
