We are seeking a dedicated medical professional for the permanent position as Director of Anesthesiology in East-Central MI. Responsibilities

Position Details:

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7a-5p, 7a-7p, or 3p-11p

Call Requirement: 1:8 general anesthesia beeper call

Trauma Designation: Level II

Setting: Hospital and surgery center

3 pod system, 18 rooms

11 ORs in hospital, 3 ORs in surgery center

Cases: General, ortho, gyn, neuro, thoracic, GI, healthy pediatrics, ENT and pediatric ENT, dental

Must do nerve blocks and c-sections

Medical Direction: 1:3

Full subspecialty support

Preferred Experience: 5+ years

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Oversee the strategic direction, clinical operations, and resource allocation of the anesthesiology department.

Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and institutional protocols.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams to enhance patient care and optimize anesthetic practices.

Lead initiatives to advance clinical research, educational programs, and quality improvement projects.

Foster robust professional relationships with hospital leadership, external partners, and regulatory bodies.

Supervise faculty recruitment, performance evaluations, and the continuous development of departmental staff.

Cultivate a culture of excellence, safety, and innovation within the anesthesiology department.

Qualifications

Must hold board certification in anesthesiology with a strong clinical background.

Possess a minimum of five years of progressive leadership experience within a high-acuity healthcare setting.

Demonstrated proficiency in managing comprehensive anesthesiology services and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Exhibits exceptional skills in strategic planning, operational management, and quality improvement initiatives.

Proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments and maintain rigorous compliance standards.

Exhibits exemplary interpersonal, communication, and organizational capabilities, with a steadfast commitment to patient safety.

Eligible for permanent placement in the East-Central MI region, with a competitive benefits package.

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

National Institutes of Health (NIH)

Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.

Active unencumbered Washington MD or DO Anesthesiology Michigan state license

Graduate from a fully accredited MD or DO program

One year of work experience as a Anesthesiologist

Five years as a Director of Anesthesiology

One year of EMR experience

Board Certified

Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.

A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.

Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
