Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Security Engineering Manager to lead our network security team. In this role, you will oversee the design, implementation, and management of our network security infrastructure, ensuring the highest levels of protection for our organization's data and systems.You will play a key role in developing security strategies, managing a team of engineers, and staying ahead of emerging threats in the cybersecurity landscape.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
- Manage, mentor, and guide a team of network security engineers.
- Oversee hiring, training, and professional development of team members.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Set team goals, evaluate performance, and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
Network Security Engineering:
- Design and document secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, vulnerability management tools and other security technologies.
- Support our operations team to monitor, analyze, and respond to network security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- Ensure compliance with security standards, policies, and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, GDPR).
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement the organization's network security roadmap.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.
- Work closely with senior leadership to align security initiatives with business goals.
Program and Project Support:
- Collaborate with leadership to execute program and project-specific requirements, ensuring network security aligns with organizational objectives.
- Provide expert guidance during the planning and execution of projects, ensuring all security aspects are integrated effectively.
- Proactively identify and address potential risks to maintain project timelines and quality.
Incident Management:
- Lead investigations into network security breaches and coordinate response efforts.
- Implement and refine incident response plans and disaster recovery protocols.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Security Operations, Network Operations, IT teams, and governance and compliance teams, to ensure security is integrated across all systems and processes.
- Prepare and present security performance reports and updates to stakeholders.
Automation and Innovation:
- Drive automation in security processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
- Evaluate and recommend new network security technologies and solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (Master's preferred) or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in network security engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Proficient in network security technologies, such as firewalls, SIEMs, IDS/IPS, DLP, and endpoint protection tools
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, etc.) and network infrastructure
- Expertise in security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, GDPR)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and securing hybrid environments
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, or equivalent are highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills
- Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
- Familiarity with Zero Trust security models and implementation
- Strong analytical skills to assess threats, risks, and vulnerabilities in complex environments

This position is identified as being performed in/or reporting to company operations in New York State. Salary ranges are supplied in compliance with New York State law. Pay is competitive and based on a number of job-related factors, including skills and experience.The starting pay rate/range at time of hire for this position in the posted location is $133,661.00-$219,586.00/year. The rate/range provided herein is the anticipated pay at the time of hire, and does not reflect future job opportunity.
