QC Microbiologist
Location: Norwood, MA (100% On-Site)
Duration: 6 Months (Likely to go much longer)
Pay Rate: Up to $41.40/hr
Shift: Wednesday - Saturday, 2nd Shift (2 PM - 12 AM)
Training Schedule: First week: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
We are seeking an Associate I, Quality Control Microbiology to support environmental monitoring (EM) and critical utility sampling at our Norwood, MA manufacturing facility. This role will contribute to both clinical and commercial manufacturing operations by ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

responsibilities:
- Perform routine environmental monitoring (EM) and critical utility sampling (WFI & gas).
- Maintain and calibrate lab equipment while ensuring proper housekeeping.
- Write, revise, and follow SOPs, protocols, and reports.
- Conduct data entry, review, and trending using LIMS.
- Coordinate sample testing with internal and external labs.
- Troubleshoot equipment and test methods.
- Support quality systems records (deviations, CAPAs, change controls).
- Participate in audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in a STEM field.
- 6 months - 2 years of experience in a GMP QC laboratory, preferably in microbiology.
- Hands-on experience with particle counters, viable air samplers, and gas equipment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LIMS, SAP, and eQMS.
- Strong troubleshooting, written/oral communication, and organizational skills.
- Understanding of GMP, aseptic techniques, and general laboratory instrumentation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Microbiology experience and knowledge of environmental monitoring concepts.
- Familiarity with FDA, EU, and ICH regulations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
