We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records Clerk to join our team in the healthcare facility in Covina. The primary responsibility of this role will be to manage patient information and medical records while complying with federal, state, and local laws.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately organize, compile, update, and manage health records of the patients.
- Ensure all medical records are protected and confidential as per the federal and state laws.
- Process paperwork and electronic forms for new patients.
- Track patient's medical treatment history and update it timely.
- Answer queries on medical records from physicians, technicians, and other staff.
- Assist in audits, provide information, and notes on patient care.
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to clarify diagnoses or to obtain additional information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in Health Information Management is preferred.
- Previous experience as a medical records clerk or in a related role.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of HIPAA regulations.
- Proficient in software used in healthcare for records management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
