We are looking for a meticulous and driven Assistant Controller to join our team in the Horsham area, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in planning, controlling, and evaluating the performance of our business operations.

Your focus will be on analyzing and interpreting financial reports, monitoring operational aspects, and ensuring compliance with company policies and objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and analyze variances to forecasts and budgets.
  • Lead the annual standard cost update process and review actual job costs compared to project budgets.
  • Oversee the divisional month-end close process including account reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries.
  • Review marginal income trends at sale, project start, and project completion to ensure profitability targets are met.
  • Lead in the completion of annual revenue, expense, and capital budgets, and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Work in partnership with Corporate Controller to manage the receivables collection process and develop action plans for collecting delinquent accounts.
  • Ensure the Division’s Warehouse function is processing inventory receipts and relief accurately and timely.
  • Develop partnerships with division management teams to deliver key business outcomes and mitigate risk.
  • Establish controls to ensure compliance with company collection policy and contractual payment terms.
  • Oversee cycle counts and periodic physical inventories and ensure proper security measures to protect inventory from theft.
  • Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role or relevant field.
  • Deep understanding and hands-on experience in Accounting Functions.
  • Proven experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Demonstrated ability in Auditing procedures and practices.
  • Experience in managing Billing Functions is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Cost Accounting and Construction Accounting.
  • Knowledge of Construction Cost and COST-TO-COMPLETION processes.
  • Familiarity with the percentage (%) of completion method.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications are a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software.
  • Familiarity with financial regulations and standards.
  • Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
