Human Resources Generalist

Overview:

The Human Resource (HR) Generalist is responsible for running the daily functions of the Human Resource Department. The HR Generalist must have a strong understanding of various HR functions that includes but are not limited to employee relations, performance management, benefits administration, HR systems, and HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource
programs.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, new
technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment laws.
  • Provides policy and procedural guidance to employees and management.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of federal and state employment law and
compliance requirements.
  • Responds to human resources-related inquiries.
  • Supports a variety of activities in the employee life cycle, including, but not
limited to: onboarding, VOEs, corrective actions, and exit interviews.
  • Maintains the integrity of HR systems and troubleshoots when necessary.
  • Maintains employee personnel records.
  • Administers and provides guidance/education for benefits programs, including
health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
  • Assists with audits and compliance reporting.
  • Handles sensitive personnel matters with confidentiality and discretion.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field
  • 3-5 years human resources experience
  • Experience with HRMS/HRIS systems, ADP
  • Familiarity with Maryland Unemployment and Labor Laws
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities
  • Understanding of personnel and compliance records management
  • Knowledge and implementation of OSHA regulations and compliance

Preferred:

  • Proficiency with Google Suites
  • Prior healthcare/clinical experience
  • PHR or SPHR certification
