The Facilities Department provides the physical environment, utilities, and facilities support services necessary to promote the educational and research activities of the university. Accountabilities Under direct supervision of the Director of Facilities Operations the Summer HVAC Tech Intern will:
- Assist with the effort on HVAC maintenance and repair.
- Assist in establishing HVAC project budgets and parts ordering.
- Work with HVAC tools to properly diagnose and repair HVAC equipment.
- Assist with the Building Automation operations, to include diagnosing and repairing the
- Responsible for following all procedures to conduct work activities in a safe manner including but not limited to wearing PPE required for specific duties and safe handling of chemicals as outlined by University policies and/or the supervisor.
- Responsible for immediately reporting any unsafe conditions to the supervisor and/or Environmental Health and Safety.
Requirements
Professional Experience/ Qualifications - Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students on a daily basis.- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and interact with a wide range of individuals.
- Availability to work overtime as needed.
Certifications:
- A valid driver's license in accordance with the University's Driver Safety and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
- EPA Section 608 - Universal Technician Certification.
Education This opportunity has been created for current college students enrolled in an HVAC program.
Physical Requirements - Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Required to lift and carry up 50 pounds, while from time-to-time may be required to
