Overview:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Regional Business Development Manager, located in the NorthEast, is responsible for the leadership and development of the company’s position within the specialty materials segment within a defined geography. The critical areas of focus for this role will include position include customer relations, sales, and profitable growth, along with the development of new sales opportunities.This position will be responsible for direct account management of assigned national accounts on an ongoing or temporary basis.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.- Generate sales and profit growth for existing customers as well as developing new accounts and OEM opportunities in targeted markets
- Initiate new profitable product development opportunities within the framework of the New Product Development Process. Understand customer requirements and translate those to R&D and other internal departments
- Perform as true solution selling where the consultative seller diagnoses customer needs and problems and devises a solution within the parameters of ESG’s capabilities
- Develop an account plan for each key customer and prospect. Manage customer projects through a lengthy selling cycle resulting in profitable revenue
- Ascertain and implement customer requirements s relative to forecasting, logistics, operations, and other corporate and specific goals
- Develop annual sales plans and budgets to be reviewed and updated as necessary
- Responsible for continuous learning and benchmarking

JOB REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
- 10 years of sales experience, with at least 5 years in technical sales
- Demonstrated experience working within a team as well as providing indirect leadership to support staff
- Strong understanding of financial statements and P&L measurement tools
- Strong Computer Skills (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint)
- Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time
